    About G.H.Q. Spirits

The inspiration for G.H.Q. Spirits came from founder James McNeill’s love of books and movies, and the stories his granny would tell from when she was a dispatch rider in the second world war. It was a time when people faced absolute horror, but they banded together and got through it with the aid of a good stiff drink at the end of the day. A time of community and friendship, a nod to the past when people supported each other in the face of adversity by being there for one another.

    Production

James was about to develop a new site in the City of London for G.H.Q. with its own brand-led spirits when the pandemic broke out. So he flipped the business plan on its head and set out to create and launch the gin in Scotland. Based in Angus and with family ties to the North East, it was a natural step to partner with Lost Loch Spirits for development and production of G.H.Q. Spirits, which officially launched in November 2020.
